On October 28, 1998, Penkių kontinentų komunikacijų centras, a part of Penki kontinentai group, became the first company in Lithuania to offer customers new fast access to the Internet. The company is also known as a provider of complex IT services for business Profit.
Initially, the company, founded in 1996, provided services of Internet, data storage, e-mail and created websites. It soon became obvious that service and high-speed Internet required innovative technologies. Previously used copper wires were worse than optical fiber in many ways. The company began building the first fiber-optic network 20 years ago.
“More than 120,000 apartments in many districts of the city are connected to the Penki network, that provides services of high-speed Internet and IPTV. Speaking about our solutions for business, I can say this: we take care of our customers' IT infrastructure and provide all services “from one source,” says Romas Rimgaila, director of Penkių kontinentų komunikacijų centras.
