Tenth Anniversary of BS/2 Subsidiary in Kyrgyzstan

Published: 19 February 2019 y., Tuesday

February 19 is the establishment date of the Penkių kontinentų bankinės technologijos (BS/2) subsidiary in Kyrgyzstan – BS/2 Kyrgyzstan (BS/2 Bishkek). This year it celebrates 10th anniversary. Over the years, the company has made a significant contribution to the development of the banking sector in Kyrgyzstan. 46 percent of bank self-service devices were supplied to the country by BS/2.

“The development prospects of the self-service devices market in this country are certainly very high. According to the IMF, in Kyrgyzstan, the number of ATMs per 100,000 adults is 21, while in Kazakhstan, for example, 72, in Georgia - 56. Almost 700 out of 1,500 self-service devices in Kyrgyzstan are manufactured by Diebold Nixdorf, whose exclusive partner over the years is BS/2. In 2018, the company sold over 50 ATMs to Kyrgyz banks,” says Anton Valinčius, BS/2 Head of Region.

According to him, the self-service channel of the main banks in Kyrgyzstan is undergoing active transformation. A new generation of ATMs with cash recycling systems, that expand the capabilities of traditional self-service devices, is actively gaining popularity. Cash recycling allows cash depositing and dispensing via single ATM, which means the self-service device can be used as a channel for selling various goods and services.

In addition, BS/2 Kyrgyzstan has a well-developed service infrastructure. BS/2 service centers install, upgrade and repair all banking equipment.

Banks of Kyrgyzstan pay special attention to the protection of banking equipment. “We are pleased that our ATMeye.iQ video surveillance and security system is very popular in country. This software is installed not only in the Diebold Nixdorf ATMs, but also in self-service devices by other manufacturers, such as NCR and Nautilus Hyosung. ATMs are additionally protected by Diebold Nixdorf solutions for monitoring and protection of Vynamic View (ProView) and Vynamic Security Intrusion Protection, installed by our specialists,” says Denis Pannikov, Director of BS/2 Kyrgyzstan.

The company's main goal for 2019 is to expand the range of services. BS/2 offers professional services for the banking sector of Kyrgyzstan – from the sale of ATMs and software to the maintenance and special projects that can provide financial institutions with an advantage among competitors.
